The electric pushbutton switch has a locking function. A switch plunger (17) is guided in a housing (1) by recesses (15,16) in the sides (11,13) of the housing. The plunger (7) has a cylindrical extension (26) bearing a rotating armature (33) held by an extension piece (34) and a helical spring (36). The plunger (17) also carries switch members (31) held by a helical spring (32) in recesses (30). On actuating the switch, the armature engages teeth (40,41) in grooves (4,5) in the housing to lock in different positions corresp. to the switch positions. Terminal and contact elements (20) set in slits (19) make electric contact with the switch member. Several switches can be connected in a chain by dove tail connectors (12,14) on the ends (11) of the housing. ADVANTAGE - Suitable for large number of applications.
