PURPOSE:To provide a new compound based on antioxidant activity, useful for the therapies of encephalopathy, cardiopathy, hepatopathy, cerebral arteriosclerosis, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of the formula, having the following physicochemical characteristics: (1) elemental analysis (%): C 74.66, H 6.79, N 4.25; (2) mass spectroscopic analysis: high resolution FAB-MS m/2-338, 1757 (M+H)<->; (3) molecular weight: 337; (4) melting point: 144-145 deg.C; (6) specific rotatory power: impossible to measure; (7) solubility: readily soluble in DMSO, DMF; soluble in MeOH, EtOH, CHCl3, EtOAc; poorly soluble in n-hexane, water; (8) color reaction: positive to H2SO4, iodine; (9) others: weakly basic, etc. This compound can be obtained by culture of Streptomyces exfoliatus 2419-SVTZ (FERM P-12707) in a liquid medium at pH of 6 to 7 at 24 to 27 deg.C for 2 to 3 days. |
