PURPOSE: To make a header assembly possible to be removed easily after terminal pins are soldered to a printed circuit board. CONSTITUTION: A header assembly has a given uniform thickness and has a plurality of pin receiving passages 20. A plurality of terminal pins 14 are fitted in these passages and protrude from an insulating block 12 in order to be inserted into holes of a printed circuit board and to be soldered to circuits on the board. These terminal pins 14, which are fitted tight in the passages of the insulating block 12, are soldered to the printed circuit board and thereafter the block can slip off from the pins. An area of tight fit between the terminal pins 14 and the pin receiving passages 20 is smaller than a thickness of the insulating block, and thereby rigidity enough to keep the terminal pins 14 aligned is given to the insulating block 12, and moreover force needed for removing the block from the pins is made small. In order to facilitate insertion of the terminal pins 14 into the pin receiving passages 20, pin insertion ports of the pin receiving passages 20 are chamfered. |
