PURPOSE:To realize full automatic operation around the clock without requiring manpower. CONSTITUTION:Battery areas 10, each comprising a battery station 11, a battery changer 12, and a service area 13, are installed along an electromagnetic induction line 2. A charger 16 and a battery holder 17 are arranged in the battery station 11. The battery changer 12 is constituted of a chain 20, a truck 21, and a push-pull arm 7 having a retractable pin 25. Each battery B1, B2 is provided, at the opposite ends in the longitudinal direction, with hooks 27 which engage with the projecting pin 25. Upon dying of the battery B1 mounted on an automatically guided vehicle 1, a controller controls driving of the chain 20, the push-pull arm 7, the pin 25, and the like appropriately thus exchanging the dead battery B1 with a charged battery B2. |
