<p>A 'flight bag' style carry-on bag (20) incorporates a pair of wheels (46) positioned at a bottom corner of the bag (20) and spaced along the width dimension of the bag. A pull handle (48) is integrated with the bag (20), and preferably both the pull handle (48) and the wheels (46) are attached to an internal support structure (40) such as a bottom pan (54). The wheels (46) have an exterior surface (69) presenting an edge (70) upon which the wheels (46) roll at the furtherest spaced apart locations to increase the width of lateral support provided by the wheels. The pull handle assembly (48) includes at least one rod (52) moving in a channel (84) with a slider member (90) connected to the rods to effectively transmit torque between a grip (50) connected to the rod (52) and the internal support structure (54).</p> |
