PURPOSE:To provide an electrophotographic printer where variation in the quantity of liquid carrier generated on a photosensitive drum when a multiple number of developing units are changed over is kept down, squeezing function of excessive liquid carrier is stabilized and where a liquid toner layer of a specified thickness is formed. CONSTITUTION:The printer is provided with a developing means 20 provided with a multiple number of developing units, an intermediate transfer drum 31 which is brought into a pressurized contact with the photosensitive drum and where toner image on the photosensitive drum is transferred and a paper feeding device 70 carrying in and out a recording medium P where the toner image on the intermediate transfer drum is transferred against the intermediate transfer drum. A squeezing roll 60 is provided to move with the desired spacing maintained between a surface of the photosensitive drum 11 upstream of a position where the photosensitive drum 11 and the intermediate transfer drum 31 are brought into contact and downstream of the developing means 20 and an application means 90 to impart auxiliary liquid onto the photosensitive drum 11 is provided between the squeezing roll 60 and the developing means 20. |
