<p>Articulation for an element (10) forming the sitting portion or the backrest of a reclining seat (12), particular a seat for a camper van, of the type comprising a frame (24) mounted so as to rotate between two brackets (14) about an axis (20) and covered with upholstery (22), and a single mechanism (18) for positioning and turning the frame about the transverse axis, the articulation being characterised in that the mechanism (18) comprises locking means (26) having two positions, an extended position to engage with notches formed in the brackets (14) and defining different positions of the seat element, and the other a retracted position, in addition to a linking mechanism (28) whose first end is connected to these locking means and whose second end emerges on one side (16) of the articulated seat element and is connected to an element-turning member.
