PURPOSE:To obtain a control system for a satellite broadcast receiving apparatus which can select a BS channel from a video apparatus in which a BS tuner is not contained. CONSTITUTION:The system is provided with a video apparatus (VTR, television set) AV which has a BS television set TV and a ground broadcast tuner 7, but does not have a BS tuner. At the time of supplying a BS signal to the video apparatus AV through an output terminal 5 from a tuner 4 contained in the BS television set TV, when a specific ground wave receiving channel is viewed by the video apparatus AV, a microcomputer 1 detects a ground broadcast channel which is being viewed from a monitor output signal of the video apparatus. Subsequently, based on a relation of channel information set to a memory 10 in advance, a receiving channel of the BS tuner 4 contained in the BS television set is set, the BS signal is supplied to the video apparatus, AV, and switching of the BS channel from the video apparatus can be executed.
