The model system has wheels, traction motor and electrical or electronic control circuit installed in a housing (68) of the vehicle (2) which runs on a T-section track (1) with a triangular prismatic foot (5) and a plane top (6). The current is collected (9) from a rail (7) extending laterally above the crossbar (4) of the T-section through a slot (11) between parallel walls (12,13). The wheels, not needing to run on any rail, can be relatively wide for optimal ride stability on the top of the track. ADVANTAGE - Simple structure assembled from few components protects traction current conductor rail against damage or contamination.
