PURPOSE:To obtain the rubber foam which is used as a sole material because it has cut surface closely resembling natural leather by kneading rubber together with a composition containing plasticized polyvinyl chloride, a foaming agent and a cross-linking agent, extruding the mixture into sheets and heating them under pressure to effect partial foaming. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. of a natural rubber and/or a synthetic rubber such as styrene-butadiene rubber are kneaded with 30 to 200 pts.wt. of a compound prepared by blending 100 pts.wt. of polyvinyl chloride with 20 to 100 pts.wt. of a plasticizer such as dioctyl phthalate, 0.1 to 5 pts.wt. of a foaming agent such as an azodicarbonamide and a cross-linking agent such as sulfur to form rubber sheets. The sheets are heated under pressure to form partial foam part 1 in the solid layer 2 of the cross-linked rubber whereby the objective flexible foam rubber which has the cut faces closely resembling natural leather and is used as a sole material for footwear. |
