摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a rapid, highly accurate, highly reliable thin line image shaping method by simple processing. CONSTITUTION:In the method for shapling a disturbed thin line image to be shaped, a thin line retrieving process #2 retrieves a thin line to be traced, a cluster tracing process #3 traces the array direction of thin line picture elements by an optional direction code, and when a branch point exists, selects a direction more approximate to a mean value of plural optional direction codes before branching point, traces the direction up to the end point, erases the image of a thin line (cluster) from the thin line image to be shaped, and transfers the image data of the cluster to another shaped thin line image. These two processes #2, #3 are repeated, and after tracing all thin lines and completing the shaped thin line image from the image data of the obtained cluster, a thin line to be connected retrieving process 44 retrieves two thin lines whose end points are oppositely close to each other and a thin line connecting process #5 computes the positional data of the end points of two matched thin lines and shape data existing in the vicinity of the end point, and when the computed result is less than a prescribed threshold value, two thin lines are connected. These two processes 4, 5 are repeated to complete a reshaped thin line image.
