The operator (1), exercising radio remote control (3) of a machine (7) from a location well away from other personnel (19), is linked also by radio to their portable sec. receivers (21) and alarm devices (23). The receiver (5) on the machine is wired to a local alarm device (9), siren (11) and flashing warning lamp (13). The portables are designed to register emergency call information from the isolated operator and to trigger a decentralised alarm increasing the probability of response to such a call. USE/ADVANTAGE - In e.g. forestry with radio-controlled tractors, effectiveness of alarm system is increased with less risk to isolated operators out of sight or earshot.
