<p>A financial transaction system for purchasing televised programs and information services includes a terminal (65) connected to a customer's television (70), for regulating the television reception of a program or information service or product; and a central processor (50) for communicating with the terminal (65), for purchasing progams and exchanging data. The terminal (65) has data storage for storing the available credit of a customer; and a data processor for comparing the available credit to the purchase price of a program, for permitting the reception of a program, and for debiting the purchase price from the stored credit for the purchased product or service.</p> |
