The valve consists of a valve housing (2) with a bore (3) for a sliding spool (9) which is guided in a series of sealing rings (7) spaced along the bore. The sealing rings are retained in recesses (20) which are formed in one piece with the valve housing (2). The valve housing itself is split longitudinally into two halves (21,22) each containing half recesses into which the sealing rings fit. To assemble the valve housing the sealing rings are placed in the recesses of one half of the housing, and the second half is then secured by welding, adhesive or screws. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple, low-cost design of sliding spool valve permitting rapid and accurate assembly without damage to sealing rings.
