PURPOSE:To provide the separating pawl having an excellent contamination preventive property and durability by bonding a monomolecular film contg. alkyl fluoride groups covalently with the surface of a base material by siloxane bonds to the surface of the separating pawl to be used for the electrophotographic device. CONSTITUTION:The separating pawl made of a resin is immersed into a dilute nonaq. soln. dissolved with, for example, heptadecafluorotridecyl trichlorosilane, which is one of silane chemical adsorbents, induce an adsorption reaction and thereafter, the unreactants are washed away, by which the chemical adsorptive monomolecular film is formed via the siloxane bonds contg. the alkyl fluoride groups on the surface of the separating pawl. This separating pawl is formed with the monomolecular film 3 contg. the alkyl fluoride groups via the siloxane bonds 2 on the surface of the separating pawl 1.
