METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR RETRIEVING FILE

PURPOSE: To provide a system for vertically retrieving a data base file. CONSTITUTION: A two-dimensional matrix 15 consisting of marks indicating the coincidence and noncoincidence between a data element accessed from a common field and not less than one retrieval argument with respect to all the record in the data base file 10 is prepared. The matrix 15 consisting of this mark prepared after one path connecting all the record in the file 10 identifies a record with some group the data element value of which is specified by the retrieval argument between consecutive records.
