PURPOSE:To execute fixing corresponding to the state of the internal temperature of a fixing device and to realize printing with high reliability by controlling the actions of a ventilating fan and an air suction fan according to a signal from a temperature sensor. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a xenon lamp 11 generating copying heat, the temperature sensor 15 for detecting the internal temperature of the fixing device 5, the air sucking fan 17 for sending outside air to the inside of the device 5 and/or the ventilating fan 16 for exhausting the air inside the device 5 to the outside, and a control part for controlling the actions of the fans 16 and 17 corresponding to the internal temperature of the device 5 detected by the sensor 15. Since the inside of the device 5 is not warmed immediately after turning on a power source in the printing device which is kept in a low temperature state, the control part stops the actions of the fans 16 and 17 and all the copying heat by the light emission of the lamp 11 is used to fix the toner on printing paper and to heat the device 5. When the inside of the fixing device 5 is sufficiently warmed, the fans 16 and 17 are actuated to cool the lamp 11. |
