PURPOSE:To implement an exposure control intended by a photographer. CONSTITUTION:A range finder sensor 27 measures a distance up to an object, and a duplicate range between the visual field range of a finder and the pickup range of a CCD 4 is detected based on the distance up to the object and the focus of an image pickup lens. A YL synthesis circuit 15 extracts a luminance signal component from the output video signal of the CCD 4. A luminance signal component obtained from the light receiving section of the CCD corresponding to the duplicate range is integrated by an integration circuit 17. The integrated value is added as to the duplicate range. The photometry value is calculated from the sum.
