PURPOSE:To provide a carrier jig for an optical fiber capable of surely carrying the fusion-spliced optical fiber from a fusion splicing work position to a reinforcing work position by one worker without generating the twist of the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The arm 19 of the carrier jig is comprised by coupling an upper side arm 17 with a lower side arm 16 slidably freely upward/downward, and the lower terminal side of the lower side arm 16 is mounted on a rotary supporting shaft 22 on a fusion slicing machine 50 side rotatably freely. A fiber clamp 45 is provided on the upper side of the upper side arm 17. The fiber clamp 45 is comprised of a clamp board 27 and a clamp upper cover 33, and the clamp board 27 is mounted on a slider pin 26 slidably freely, and a tensile force can be given to the optical fibers 4a, 4b by pressing the clamp board 27 is the axial direction of the optical fibers 4a, 4b by a spring 28. The optical fibers 4a, 4b to which fusion splicing is applied are held with the fiber clamp 45, and they are carried to a heater 10 located at a reinforcing stage 3 by performing the operation of extension/contraction and rotation of the arm 19. |
