PURPOSE:To prevent the freight from being degraded or deteriorated in the quality through, for example, a delay in recognition of abnormality in a container by a method wherein, when to an interrogation about abnormality a response has indicated abnormality, the container concerned is registered as an abnormal container and, after this registration, this container is placed under stressed surveillance and subjected to polling about the abnormality repeated at shortened time cycles. CONSTITUTION:A central monitoring device interrogates every terminal constituting a network concerning whether or not anything abnormal has occurred. If there is a response indicating a case of abnormality, the central monitoring device registers as an abnormal container the one referred to by the response and executes polling on that particular abnormality, collecting data on the operation of the container in which something abnormal has occurred. When a round of ordinary polling covering all the containers is over and there is a registration of an abnormal container after an elase of a certain period of time (e.g. one hour), polling on that particular abnormality is repeated at intervals of a short specific time (e.g. one minute). This method prevents a case of abnormality having occurred in a container from being left undiscovered and unattended to until a subsequent ordinary polling. |
