PURPOSE:To provide a surface mounting type connector where a narrow arrangement pitch of a contact is achieved in high density and favorable soldering to a printed circuit board is realized in connecting a card where contacts are arranged at the narrow pitch in parallel to each other and in two rows in the vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:Each original of a contact portion 92 extending in the fitting direction and carrying out electric contact of an IC card, a time portion 94 having a solder connecting surface 94a to be solder-connected to a printed circuit board, a portion 96 to be held by a holding hole, and a leg 98 to be inserted into an engaging portion 84 in a contact 90 formed by punching a metal sheet plate and bending are formed. Subsequently, the portion 96 to be held is bent upward in an approximately U-shape with respect to the surface of paper. The contact portion 92 is bent in an almost circular cross section in the same direction as that of the portion 96 to be held.
