摘要 A method and a system for estimating a parameter in a communication system are provided. The method includes estimating a parameter of a data channel model in a communication system, decoding a packet received through a determined noise channel to convert the packet into data indicating one of a success and failure of a reception of the packet, configuring a prototype channel having at least one unknown parameter, estimating the at least one unknown parameter using the data indicating the one of the success and the failure of the reception of the packet, and determining the size of a parity field of a forward error correction (FEC) symbol, using the estimated at least one unknown parameter.

A method of estimating a parameter of a data channel model in a communication system, the method comprising: decoding a packet received through a noise channel, the noise channel being a channel where a noise is inserted into some packets; converting the packet into data indicating one of a success and a failure of a reception of the packet, success of the reception being when the packet is received without the noise or when the noise in the packet is able to be corrected; configuring a prototype channel having at least one unknown parameter, the prototype channel being a simulation of the first channel; estimating the at least one unknown parameter using the data indicating the one of the success and the failure of the reception of the packet; and determining a size of a parity field of a forward error correction (FEC) symbol, using the estimated at least one unknown parameter.
