PURPOSE:To quickly detect the accident section of a power distribution system. CONSTITUTION:Individual monitoring slave stations S are called sequentially by a master station 5, state information on segment switches SW is gathered and the system state of an accident section or the like is monitored. At this time, when there exist the monitoring slave stations S which are non-responsive to the call of the master station 5, the master station is returned to the monitoring slave station S which is nearest to the side of a power supply in a power distribution line to which the nonresponsive monitoring slave stations belong, and the monitoring slave stations are called sequentially. Thereby, an inessential call is omitted, and the accident section is detected quickly. At this time, the master station 5 displays the ON-OFF state of the segment switches SW in the form of an image, the segment switches corresponding to the nonresponsive monitoring slave stations and the segment switches on the side of a load are displayed temporarily as an OFF state, and the display is renewed so as to match state information after that. Thereby, a monitoring operator can confirm easily the state of a power distribution system and the operating state of a monitoring apparatus, and it is possible to easily comply with the restoration or the like of an accident.
