Storage device, in particular a drawer 1, which can be accommodated in a cabinet, for storing cheques 3 and the like, for example at the counter of a bank, a sliding plate 5 being located in the vicinity of the top side of the drawer 1, in which sliding plate, at virtually identical intervals, a number of slots 7 are formed, which slots extend transversely with respect to the direction of movement of the sliding plate 5, so that the entire contents of the drawer 1 are accessible in the event of a limited movement of the sliding plate. Above the sliding plate 5 there are sliding strips 8 which can move in the same direction as the sliding plate 5 and are of such a width and can be displaced over such a distance that a free space is obtained between two strips 8 or in front or behind the end strips, so that one of the slots 7 in the sliding plate 5 is accessible. <IMAGE>
