PURPOSE: To combine a minitel terminal with a facsimile equipment. CONSTITUTION: A terminal 2 consists of a processor 9. a V.23 modem 10, a port 14, and a switch 13 which links a line 6 to the modem 10 or a telephone set 8, and a facsimile equipment 1 consists of a processor 3, a V.27 ter-V.29 modem 4, a protocol layer provided with an X.32 layer, and a switch 7 which links the line 6 to the modem 4 or the telephone set 8. The processor 9 of the terminal 2 is linked to the modem 4 of the facsimile equipment 1 by the processor 3 of the facsimile equipunent 1 and the port 14 of the terminal 2, and the facsimile equipment 1 includes a ke1 for switching from the modem 10 to the modem 4 after connection of the line 6 and the modem 10 of the terminal 2.
