The invention generally relates to a support device for coat-hangers, for packaging clothing in a case, comprising a support bar provided with an attachment at each of its ends to hold it onto the said case, the bar having a U-shaped profile open in the upward direction, the attachments perpendicular to the bar also having a U-shaped cross-section open in the opposite direction from U-shaped cross-section of the bar, a locking piece being provided which closes the open section of the bar. More precisely, each attachment, pre-cut before folding, comprises a U-shaped cut-out line (7, 8) delimiting a rectangle whose short sides (7) are parallel with the bar and whose long cut-out side (8) is parallel with the attachment, this rectangle being cut again parallel to the side (8) in order to reduce its width and, if necessary, folded along the side (12) which is not cut out in order to form an opening (9) and a housing located the level of the line (11) for the U-shaped folding of the attachment facing the bar, the said housing being intended for the insertion of one end of the locking piece. The invention applies to the transport and storage of clothing in cases. <IMAGE>
