PURPOSE:To prevent ink to be ejected at a place which is not predetermined by provid ing a power supply stop means that stops power supply to a DC motor based on a generated signal of a signal-generation means, an adequate range stop judgement means that judges stopping range of a recording head based on the generated signal of the signal-generation means or a generated pulse of a pulse-generation means and a means for controlling the recording head based on the judged result. CONSTITUTION:At a time point (1), a motor control signal is turned to a high level to start activating of a DC motor 15 so that a recording head 2 starts its movement. In response to the movement, an ejecting position detection signal is generated in such a manner that a photosensor of an ejecting position sensor 19 which is disposed so as to nip an encoder slit 21a, turns on or off. After the head 2 started movement, an ejecting start position detection signal turns a high level at a time point (2) and turns low level at a time point (3) in accordance with the length of a slit of an encoder plate 25. Assuming that the number of pulses of the ejecting position detection signal until a carriage stops is R and pulses of both ends are (a) and (b) respectively, when the relationship of them is (a)<=R<=b, a CPU judges that the carriage stopped in an adequate range of stopping position. |
