PURPOSE:To provide an optical coupling structure for connecting a light-emitting element with a photodetector on the same substrate. CONSTITUTION:In an optical coupling structure, an electronic circuit, a light- emitting element 3, and a photodetector 4 are provided, and the element 3 and the photodetector 4 are coupled optically with each other on a semiconductor substrate 1. Each thin plate 6 of glass, which is ground as a thin plate for an optical waveguide, is fitted to upper faces of the light-emitting elements 3 and photodetectsrs 4. |
