The invention relates to an alarm system for a bed, chair and the like, comprising at least one sensor which is to be accommodated in a medium and which is connected to an alarm unit, the sensor comprising two electrodes which are interconnected by means of a layer of imprintable, electrically conductive micro-cellular plastic. Relatively rigidly sprung material is preferably accommodated in the micro-cellular plastic between the two electrodes, spread over the surface of the sensor and providing electrical insulation.
