SCALE-SWITCHABLE ROAD MAP DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To easily compare the scale of a road map displayed at present with the scale of the road map for changeover and to easily switch to the road map of the desired scale. CONSTITUTION:Characters in sizes corresponding to the respective scales of both the present road map displayed at present and the road map for changeover displayable by being switched with the present road map (that is, the extent of a range displayable on a display screen 8a) are displayed at the lower center of the display screen 8a and the character in the size corresponding to the scale of the present road map is emphatically displayed further. The character in the size corresponding to the scale of the road map for changeover changeover-instructed by the operation of a wide area key 4a or a detail key 4b is displayed in color so as to be discriminated from the other characters. By the operation of an OK key 4c, the road map for changeover of the scale corresponding to the size of the color-displayed character is switched to the present road map and displayed at the display screen 8a.
