PURPOSE: To provide an electrifying roller having an adequate hardness, excellent in environmental stability, capable of uniformly electrifying and electrified at a low voltage and to provide a contact electrifying device. CONSTITUTION: The charge roller 4 is made of a polyamide-polyol block copolymer having the Shore H hardness of 5-90 and expressed by a general formula (in the formula, R<1> represents polyamide segment, R<2> represents polyol segment and (n) represents an integer satisfying the relative viscosity of 1.5-2.5 at 30 deg.C in a 0.5g/dl m-cresol solution) and is provided with a surface layer 3 having 10<6> -10<12>Ω.cm volume electric resistivity and the contact electrifying device electrifies a body to be electrified by impressing voltage from outside to the electrifying roller 4 provided in contact with the body to be electrified.
