PURPOSE:To detect the regular setting direction of a satellite antenna. CONSTITUTION:The satellite broadcast receiver 2 is provided with a converter 3 converting a signal of a 1st intermediate frequency from a satellite antenna 1 into a signal of a 2nd intermediate frequency by channel selection control of a microcomputer 9 and with a voice demodulation section 4 demodulating a voice signal from the signal of the 2nd intermediate frequency and generating a synchronizing state signal when demodulation is executed and generating an asynchronizing state signal when demodulation is not executed and also with an AM detection circuit 6 AM-detecting the signal of the 2nd intermediate frequency to extract a noise component and a switching circuit 8 switching a noise signal and a demodulated voice signal, and each signal representing the synchronization state and the asynchronization state is inputted to the microcomputer 9, and the switching circuit 8 is switched to select a noise component when the signal representing the asynchronization state is inputted to the microcomputer 9 and to select a demodulated voice signal when the signal representing the synchronization state is inputted to the microcomputer 9, and the regular direction is detected by utilizing a change in the noise sound.
