Process for producing lightweight concrete or concrete-like articles

As aggregate for concrete, use is made of comminuted wastepaper in the form of fibres, strips, pressed spheres and the like. The paper addition can be carried out dry or else in the form of a pulp. If the proportion of paper is small, lightweight concrete-like articles having sufficient compressive strength can be produced. Increasing the proportion of paper produces articles which can be used for heat insulation and sound insulation.
