PURPOSE:To obtain a nonreflective termination with simple structure and superior environmental resistance by comprising the termination of an optical fiber of specific size for bending loss and setting one terminal of the optical fiber as an input terminal. CONSTITUTION:This optical fiber type nonreflective termination 10 is constituted by winding the optical fiber 1 with high bending loss. In such a case, the optical fiber 1 with high bending loss is the one with loss >=100dB/m when the optical fiber 1 of diameter 50mm is wound. Light made incident from the input terminal receives remarkably high bending loss, and is radiated to a clad, and is attenuated, then, it is not returned again to the input terminal. In such a way, since the termination is constituted of the optical fiber 1 with high bending loss, the nonreflective termination 10 itself can be formed in simplified structure. Also, since only the optical fiber 1 is used as components to be used, extremely superior environmental resistance can be obtained, and reflecting characteristic can be prevented from being changed due to heat and dust, etc. Furthermore, since reflection can be suppressed by the bending loss, the reflection can be reduced by designing the optical fiber 1 with high bending loss. |
