PURPOSE:To prevent printed characters from bleeding due to increasing surface tension of ink, and ink characteristics from being unstable due to properties of an absorber (foam) by impregnating an absorber with ink which contains surfactant for use as an ink cartridge in ink jet recording. CONSTITUTION:This ink cartridge, which is used in an ink jet printer, is provided with a cartridge case 1, an ink absorber 3 impregnated with ink whose surface tension is adjusted to 32dyne/cm or less, and a cartridge case cover 2. The surface tension of ink which impregnates the ink absorber 3 is (A+3.0) dyne/cm or less to the surface tension A of single ink. Manufacture thereof consists of at least (1) a process of immersing the ink absorber 3 in the solution which contains surfactant (0.1-10weight% and (2) a process of injecting ink which contains surfactant in a cartridge which stores the ink absorber 3 immersed in surfactant solution. |
