摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal display device which improves the visual field angle of the liquid crystal display device without degrading display grade and reliability and can be produced at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:Slit apertures 18 are formed at >=1 points per 1 picture element on a counter electrode 15 on a wiring substrate 32 by directing their long side direction perpendicularly to the average orientation direction of the liquid crystal molecules projected on the substrate. The rectangular region constituting one picture element of the counter electrode 15 on the wiring substrate 32 is formed larger by a optional value in a direction parallel with the average orientation direction of the liquid crystal molecules projected on the substrate than the rectangular region constituting one picture element of the picture element electrodes 14 on the wiring substrate 31. The electrode parts facing each other are, therefore, shifted in a direction parallel with the average orientation direction of the liquid crystal molecules projected on the substrate and electric fields of a diagonal direction are generated therebetween. The liquid crystal molecules rise in a direction parallel with these diagonal e fields when the pretilt angle of the liquid crystal molecules is set 0 deg.. The region where the rising directions of the liquid crystal molecules vary is formable within the one picture element by the deviation of the electrode parts facing each other.
