The school satchels for primary-school pupils are intended to protect the pupils carrying them by reflective strips and conspicuous colouring. This is insufficient as protection in city traffic since, behind parked or stationary cars, the children are not visible at all to car drivers. Located on the wall of the satchel (4) is the holder (3) for the telescopic arm (2). When the pupil is carrying the satchel with this attachment, the signalling element (1) is thus at a height of more than 1.50 m above the ground. Only by this means can the pupil be perceived by car drivers even behind other cars. The satchel with the signalling device reduces the risk of accidents to children in city traffic. <IMAGE>
