PURPOSE:To provide a residual capacity monitor for a battery which can accurately and exactly grasp and monitor a residual capacity of the battery in response to an output power at the tide of discharging and particularly exactly recognize the residual capacity of the battery for a driver to meet a traveling state in an electric traveling vehicle. CONSTITUTION:The residual capacity monitor for a battery comprises residual capacity grasping means 10 for grasping a residual capacity of the battery 1 by subtracting an integrated value of a discharge current I from an initial capacity, and residual capacity correcting means 12 for correcting the residual capacity in response to a temperature T and output power of the battery 1. A correction of the means 12 is so conducted that the larger the output power of the battery 1 becomes, the lower new residual capacity obtained by the correction becomes. |
