PURPOSE:To provide a controller for regenerative DC series motor in which surge current can be reduced upon throw-in of a power supply contactor while avoiding complication of circuitry and increase of size. CONSTITUTION:Upon turn ON of a regenerative transistor 6 prior to throw-in of a power supply contactor 14, charging current flows from a DC power supply 12 through the regenerative transistor 6, a regenerative resistor 7, the joint of coils A and F, and a first flywheel diode 9 to the high potential end of a smoothing capacitor 13. Since the charging current is limited by the regenerative resistor 7, excessive surge current does not flow into the smoothing capacitor 13 even upon throw in of the power supply contactor 14. Consequently, the contact of power supply contactor 14 and the DC power supply dot not require high rated current. |
