<p>PURPOSE: To form a cellular communication system capable of executing scheduled hand-off operation for executing hand-off of many rates without monitoring signal intensity. CONSTITUTION: A cellular communication network 116 includes a satellite 400 for projecting a cell to a globe 104. The satellite 400 and the cell are moved around the globe 104. When a call is set up on a subscriber's unit 300, data indicating the position of the unit 300 are transmitted to an exchange 500 in the network 116. The exchange 500 generates a schedule for forecasting the time when the unit 300 crosses the boundary of the cell. During the period of an advancing call, the unit 300 judges the generation of crossing of the expected boundary. During the existence of a suitable signal, in the planned cell and the existence of network capacity in the expected cell, the call is handed off to the expected cell.</p> |
