PURPOSE: To provide a photographic sensitive material having a high silver chloride red sensitive layer having high photosensitivity and low temp. sensitivity by incorporating a specific dye and a specific compound in a silver halide emulsion layer having a silver halide containing equal to or more specific quantity of silver chloride. CONSTITUTION: The red sensitive silver halide emulsion layer has the silver halide containing at least 90mol% silver chloride in the silver halide and contains the dye expressed by formula I and the compound expressed by formula II. In formula I, each of X1 and X2 represents sulfur, selenium or oxygen though both are not oxygen at the same time, each of R1 and R2 represents an alkyl group or a substituted alkyl group, each of W1 and W2 is hydrogen or a substituent having J value of <=0.15, Z is an alkyl, an acyl or the like, A is a pair ion to balance the charge. In formula II, D represents a bivalent aromatic component, each of W9 -W12 is a hydroxyl, a halogen atom or the like, each of G1 and G2 is N or CH and each of Y1 and Y2 is N or CH under the condition that one of G1 and Y1 is N and one of G2 Y2 is N.
