An image-producing device is disclosed which produces images both in a horizontal position as well as in an upright position. This image-producing device contains a rotating endless latent-image carrier, an image-producing unit for forming an electrostatic latent image on the latent-image carrier, a developing unit for developing the electrostatic latent image on the latent-image carrier by means of a powdery developer, a toner-supply mechanism which is fastened to the developing unit at an angle relative to the direction of gravity for the purpose of supplying toners to the developing unit, and a transfer unit for transferring the developed image on the latent-image carrier onto a sheet. In the case of this construction, the device can supply uniform toners to the developing unit, independently of the position in which the device is arranged.
