PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic disk device capable of improving the characteristic of a spindle motor and preventing the splash of grease oil mist completely. CONSTITUTION:In the seal structure of a spindle motor, a labyrinth seal 82 is provided between a flange 62 of the motor and a bush 80 and oil mist of grease applied in a fearing 70 is prevented from entering into a sealing room 15. On the other hand, a magnetic seal 84 is provided between a rotor 72 being in the opposite side of the axial direction where the seal 82 is provided for a stator 65 and a spindle shaft 42, and oil mist of grease applied in a bearing 68 is prevented from entering into the room 15. Thus, the seals 82 and 84 are combined with each other, so that the performance of the spindle motor is improved while keeping a sufficient sealing effect.
