The invention relates to a bolt lock (1) for a platform gate (drop side, sideboard) of a commercial vehicle or the like, with a locking bolt (3) for interaction with a counterholder (15), which locking bolt (3) can be moved by means of a locking lever (4) between an open position and a locking position, the locking bolt (3) being arranged in a preferably trough-like housing (2). So as to prevent the bolt lock from opening in the event of an internal pressure action, with a design which is as simple as possible and favourable in terms of force, the invention proposes that the housing (2) forms at least one lateral guide wall (6) and that a catch-type projection (17, 18) is constructed on the locking bolt (3), which catch-type projection extends essentially transversely with respect to the main direction of movement (R) of the locking bolt (3) and laterally towards the guide wall (6) and interacts with a stepped slotted guide (19) in the guide wall (6), the catch-type projection (17, 18) being movable relative to a slotted-guide step (21) in a plane perpendicular with respect to the main direction of movement (R) of the locking bolt (3) so as to overrun the slotted-guide step (21). <IMAGE>
