The stabilizer detects temperature variation and input voltage variation, keeps a constant lamp output to protect the metalhalide lamp and reduces the resonance at high frequency ignition. The stabilizer includes a power supply(10) which outputs main power(MS Vcc) and auxilliary power(B2), a reference voltage detection unit(11) which makes the output voltage constant, a variable frequency driving unit(12) which varies the output frequency, a power conversion unit(13) which varies the nominal output frequency, a temperature detection unit(17), a starting circuit(15), a lamp output unit(14), a output feedback unit(16).
