AN INTAKE FOR THE WATER PUMP OF JET PROPULSION UNITS

An intake for the water pump of jet propulsion units for waterborne craft. The intake comprises an inlet section (1) with a forwardly directed inlet opening (10) which is located under the vessel's bottom (4), and an outlet section (3) with a backwardly directed outlet opening (11) which is located above the bottom (4). The longitudinal axis (9) of the intake extends in a loose S-shape backwards from the intet opening (10) to the outlet opening (11) and the edge of the forwardly directed inlet opening (10) lies in a plane which extends obliquely forwards and upwards.
