PURPOSE:To obtain a universal rotary driver having simple structure and operating positively in which the installation cost can be reduced by providing a switch for connecting an AC power supply or the DC output of a conduction control circuit with a stator. CONSTITUTION:A switch 4-2 has a movable contact normally coming into contact with the (p) side of a fixed contact. Consequently, the windings (d), (f) for one phase of a polyphase motor 1 are fed with power directly from an AC power supply whereas the windings (a), (c) for another phase of the motor 1 are fed with power from the AC power supply through a power factor improving capacitor 5 and the polyphase motor 1 rotates as a synchronous motor thus driving a load 11. When the AC power supply is interrupted and DC power is fed from an emergency battery, the driving magnetic coil 4-1 in the switch 4 is excited to bring the movable contact into contact with (q) side of fixed contact. Consequently, the winding terminals (a) (bc), (d), (e), (f) are connected with the output terminals of a conduction control circuit 2 and the windings are conducted sequentially upon receiving signals from an oscillator 3 and the polyphase motor 1 is operated as a step motor for driving the load 11. |
