A freezer with a chamber for storing frozen products and with a door or cover which opens to the chamber, and equipped with a refrigerant circuit with cooling surfaces for cooling the products, and with an arrangement for dehumidification. In order to reduce frost formation on the cooling surfaces of the freezer as a result of air seeping in slowly, it is proposed to provide a dehumidifier unit which contains an intake pipe 22 which opens inside the storage chamber of the freezer, and an extra refrigerant circuit with a condenser, a throttle member and an evaporator, arranged in such a manner that the intake pipe 22 is positioned close to the evaporator 24 of the extra refrigerant circuit. All the air which is sucked into the storage chamber of the freezer while the cover is closed is forced to flow past the evaporator in the extra refrigerant circuit, after which the dry air is guided through the intake pipe 22 into the freezer chamber. <IMAGE>
