PURPOSE:To provide a multipoint focus detecting camera that is almost impossible to take a failed photograph, and besides, there is excellent in operability, at the time of performing the photograph used with a self-timer as providing such a function as detecting a focal point at plural focus detecting areas. CONSTITUTION:An operational means is provided with a manual mode, setting a focus detecting area focusing a lens 31 to another focus detecting area manually selected by a photographer, and an automatic mode processing focus detecting information and termining it by means of operation. When a self-timer receiving means 12 receives the indication of such a photograph as using a self-timer, from the photographer, a setting means forcibly sets up either mode predetermined irrespective of whether the mode so far set up is the manual mode or not. |
