PURPOSE:To perform a matching processing operation with good efficiency and to accurately correct the present position of a moving body by providing an estimated-target-position setting means, a comparison and judgment means and a present-position correction means. CONSTITUTION:An estimated-target-position setting means, at every definite running operation of a moving body, renewedly sets the estimated target position of the moving body on a road on which the vehicle is running on a map and on a road which is branched from the road. A comparison and judgment means compares the present position of the moving body with its estimated target position, and it judges whether a prescribed relationship is established or not between the present position of the running body and its estimated target position. A present-position correction means, on the basis of a judged result by the comparison means, performs matching of a road pattern on a map, in which a selected estimated target position exists, with the pattern of the running track of the moving body, and it corrects the present position so as to display the present position of the moving body on the basis of a prescribed part according to the estimated target position which has been set on the road in which the pattern has been matched. |
